Text vom Macher Mitch Hawker:
This is your 7 day warning. Ballots are available at
http://www.geocities.com/wcoasterpoll/
106 ballots are in, which is about 5-10 behind last year's pace.
If you have already voted, Thank You.
You can still help to make sure that the poll results will be as accurate as
possible by encouraging others to vote. An effective way to do this is to
post about the poll on any coaster related message boards that you visit,
especially if the poll has not already been mentioned there.
I had always assumed that the steel poll is a lot less popular than the wood
poll because it barely receives half as many ballots. It turns out that by
some measures it is quite a bit more popular than the wood poll. As an
example, over 50% more people have viewed last year's steel poll results on
the website than have viewed the wood poll results there.
Ideally, the steel poll needs more ballots than the wood poll to be as
accurate because there are about twice as many steel coasters/categories
listed on the ballot and the average steel poll respondent has not ridden
twice as many as the average wood poll respondent.
I do what I can to make the poll results meaningful, but in the end it is
really up to you folks in the coaster enthusiast community. A larger number
of ballots is really the main thing that could make the steel poll results
better.
