So, wir sind wieder da...Es war schon eine sehr verregnete Eröffnung, aber dennoch: Der Park ist ein absolutes Muss und setzt Maßstäbe in Europa.
Ich will an dieser Stelle nur einige Eindrücke schildern, die wir am Freitag abend (Grand Opening) und Samstag früh gemacht haben, und welche Eindrücke andere uns erzählt haben (es waren Journalisten aus England, Belgien und den USA).
Ein Belgier sagte als erstes "Wenn Du einen kennst, kennst Du alle!". Oopps.. ich dachte schon: So ein Mist, extra nach Madrid geflogen um die Kopie der Kopie zu sehen. Ein Engländer darauf "Sie sind nicht hinter D....., sondern davor.", OK, das ließ hoffen.
Um 20 Uhr ging es mit dem Shuttle-Bus zum Park bei strömendem Regen wurde dieser dann feierlich eröffnet. Und schon der Hollywood Boulevard macht den Eindruck, als ob der Engländer Recht bekommen würde. Marvin findet hier z.B. eine Nachbildung des Chinese Theatre als Spielstätte, es gibt große Shops uns zahlreiche Restaurants mit sehr unterschiedlicher Thematisierung und Speisekarten - und alles zu akzeptablen Preisen.
Der Parkplan zählt 32 Attraktionen und 7 Shows. Das klingt vielleicht nicht besonders viel, ist aber für einen neuen Park vom Angebot im Ganzen her perfekt:

Drei Wasserattraktionen “Rio Bravo The Adventure”, “Wild Waterfalls” und “ACME Factory Tours”, das sich am schnellsten drehende, somit "Spinning" Rapid River, das ich kenne.
Die einzelnen Bereiche sind perfekt thematisiert, es gibt super Rides = ein perfekter Park.
Leider hat bei uns das Wetter überhaupt nicht mitgespielt, so dass auch der Samstag voll "ins Wasser" viel. Deshalb "nur" Pressebilder unter: http://www.fun-day.de/wbmwm/
Aber dennoch konnten wir fest stellen und andere haben das auch bestätigt, dass dieser Park in Sachen Thematisierung an der Spitze steht, was im Moment geboten wird. Rechnet man noch die Achterbahnen und "anderen" Attraktionen hinzu wird es in Europa schwer sein, etwas vergleichbares zu finden. Aber auch hinter amerikanischen Park muss sich m.E. der Park nicht verstecken. OK, es gibt kein "Spiderman", aber es ist fast nicht zu glauben, dass dieser Park für "schlappe" 380 Mio. Euro gebaut wurde. Das ist wirklich ein Meisterstück.
Sicherlich gibt es jetzt Kritiker, die berichten werden, dass vielleicht die eine oder andere Attraktion noch nicht reibungslos funktionierte, oder einige gar nicht öffnen konnten. Aber das überlasse ich anderen. Ich fahre in einen Park, um Spaß zu haben. Wenn es ein "erster" Tag ist, klappt halt noch nicht alles. Ich sehe das nicht so verkrampft - sollen sich andere ärgern. Das werde ich nicht in einem Freizeitpark tun. Wer alles reibungslos erleben will, sollte vielleicht grundsätzlich erst ein paar Wochen nach einer Eröffnung fahren.
Festzuhalten bleibt: Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid ist eine Reise wert.

HOLLYWOOD PLAZA
Before entering Warner Bros. Hollywood Plaza, crowned with a large fountain and surrounded by palm trees, will be the introduction to the magic of Warner Bros. Movie World.
HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD
The main street in Warner Bros. Movie World, Hollywood Boulevard, is one of the first themed areas of the park guests come upon to. It features a replica of the legendary Chinese Theater featuring “Marvin The Martian in 3-D” and a number of buildings that reflect the typical architecture of Southern California, Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard.
The streets will be populated with “look-a-like” movie stars, and cartoon characters to meet and greet guests. Walking down the true streets of Hollywood, guests can find “The Salute to the Stars” with the echoes of the biggest Warner Bros. movies, music, and television stars.
ATTRACTIONS AND SHOWS
“Marvin the Martian in 3-D”: The projection of the cartoon film “Marvin the Martian in 3-D” is housed in the emblematic Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard. In it, Daffy Duck competes with Marvin the Martian and his dog, K-9 on their constant quest to destroy the earth and it's population.
“Warner Bros. Hollywood Fantasy”: this show is at the foreground of theme park technology. Lights, fireworks, animation, special effects, and lasers, superbly staged to create a magical space that will captivate the guests, and will recreate famous Warner Bros. film scenes.
RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS
“Beverly Hills Bakery”: Rodeo Drive style shop serving fresh rolls, coffee, sandwiches, snacks, and delicious desserts.
“Bob and Terry’s Ice cream”: Serves classic American ice-cream in one hundred and one flavors, as well as typical Belgian waffles. The parlor is decorated with pictures signed by famous actors, film directors, musicians, etc.
“Valentino´s”: Italian restaurant serving traditional cuisine from this Mediterranean Country, with outstanding thin pizza, calzone and Italian pastry.

“Casablanca”: an Arabian façade with a Bedouin tower.

CARTOON VILLAGE
Cartoon Village is home to the Looney Tunes and Cartoon Network cartoon characters. Guests will not only find the famous and most loved Warner Bros. Looney Tunes cartoon characters (Bugs Bunny, Tweety, Tasmanian Devil, Wile E. Coyote and Roadrunner) and Cartoon Network characters (Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo), but will also plunge into the most magical and endearing world of the Warner Bros. Movie World.
The fun and colorful cartoon-like buildings, landscape, pavement and images, surround the guests to entertain and make them feel, as they are part of a real cartoon.

“ACME Factory Tours”: A water raft ride where visitors, after visiting the ACME Factory, will follow the Tasmanian Devil as he wreaks havoc on the cartoon town around the ride. The ride is filled with action-packed fantasy with thrills and screams.

“Cartoon Café”: The café displays clothing and objects from the famous cartoon characters (Scooby-Doo´s collar, Huckleberry Hound´s straw hat) – The sitting area resembles themes from cartoon icons like Marvin’s spaceships, Wile E. Coyote’s workshop or the Flintstone’s living room. It will serve traditional homemade dishes.
“Cow and Chicken Ice cream”: This is the place to enjoy the best American ice cream, sundaes, frozen yogurt and milk-shakes. Expected to be one of the kids’ favorite places.

OLD WEST TERRITORY
Old West Territory pays homage to the Wild-West and the spirit of Hollywood’s classic Western films. This area will include street and façade decors to recreate famous scenes from Warner Bros. films like “Río Bravo” or “Wild Wild West”. Adobe and Spanish-style tiles combined with wooden façades replicate the earliest constructions in cities like San Antonio, El Paso or Tucson.
ATTRACTIONS AND SHOWS
“Wild Wild West Coaster”: A wooden roller coaster, 115 feet -high from its tallest point, and 3,280 feet long, inspired from Warner Bros. Pictures Wild Wild West. Brave souls who ride the roller coaster will fly over wooden valleys and canyons on a futuristic vehicle fueled by rockets that will run 50 miles/ hour, and will put their endurance to the test on the rails of this "Wooden Artifact".
“Rio Bravo The Adventure”: Inspired by famous Warner Bros. Western films. The canal runs through the different sections of a gold mine, where visitors will have to change directions continuously and will be literally turned backwards and forwards. Special effects will render the situation more and more , until an old gold digger causes an explosion. This will make visitors plunge full speed down 72 feet and splash to a stop in the lake below.
“Wild Waterfalls”: A traditional attraction with toboggans where a raincoat can be just the thing to carry.
“Silver Mine Spinner”: Attraction themed on industrial mining equipment
“Gunfighters”: Electronic target shooting game where visitors can try their marksmanship, and feel like true cowboys.
“Skill Games”: Located along the outskirts of the Wild West town: Pollo Loco, Pony Express, Wild Bill´s Shootout.
RESTAURANTS AND SHOPS
“Barbecue Restaurant”: The smell of chicken, ribs or pork chops roasting outside the restaurant will surely attract cowboys and visitors alike. The menu contains dishes named after Western movie stars, and either mariachis, or a western band will liven up the evening.
“Bandit´s Cantina”: A bar decorated in "south of the border" style that will also feature live piano music.
DC SUPER HEROES WORLD
DC Super Heroes World is home to your favorite DC Comics Super Heroes. Guests will find the streets filled with Super Heroes and villains alike where guests can meet and have their photograph taken with Batman, Robin, etc.
Walking around the streets of DC Super Heroes, guests will find cities of “Metropolis” (Superman) and “Gotham City” (Batman’), “Axis Chemical Plant”, “Wayne Manor” and the “Daily Planet”. Metropolis is a modern, safe place full of skyscrapers, built with a profusion of steel and glass. Gotham City, however, is gloomier, with large areas of soot-covered brick, rusty plumbing, and graffiti on the walls. It is an area that arouses restlessness and unease, the backdrop for the conflicts between super heroes and the most infamous villains.
ATTRACTIONS, SHOWS AND MYSTERY
“Superman, Ride of Steel”: In this floorless roller coaster, visitors are elevated 164 feet into the air, and dropped to the bottom at a 56 miles/ hour speed. Driven down rails that go spiraling up for seven loops, riders finally escape.
“Batman Knight Flight”: This is a simulator ride unique to the park. A Batman film was specially developed and created for this attraction. After visiting Wayne's Mannor museum and library, guests will get into the Batcave to help Batman and Robin defeat the villains that have escaped from Arkham mental hospital. Riding on motion simulators, they can help Batman solve a crime in progress.
“Gotham City Games”: A group of attractions with traditional “Skill Games” where visitors can show their skills and talents in Machiavellian games devised by the villains of Gotham City, among others, “The Joker’s Bumper Cars” and “Mr. Freeze’s Ice Factory”.
“Sweet Revenge (Batman Show)”: On a street stage, visitors will witness the exciting exploits of the combined forces of Batman and Robin as they put up a real fight against The Joker and Harley Quinn The power of good will be put to the test against the power of evil. Visitors will have the chance to view up close the adventures of such charismatic film characters.
“Lex Luthor Invertatron”: Lex Luthor traps innocent bystanders in his new vehicle, where he absorbs the power supplied to the city of Metropolis. This attraction is based on the rotating, vibrating, falling and twisting motions of the elevated platform that weakens the will of the fittest.
“Batman: the Pursuit”: A roller coaster that can go up to 50 miles/ hour where visitors enter the hair-raising Arkham mental hospital to help Batman. Visitors will be taken 115 feet high, and will soar and project through curls and spirals, always hanging below the steel rail.
“The Riddler’s Revenge”: The tallest attraction tower in Europe. Visitors are taken 328 feet high and are dropped down to the ground in a free fall, thus experiencing negative G forces. A unique experience for the most courageous visitors.

“Gotham City Grill”: The place to savor hamburgers, sandwiches, fries, shakes, ice cream, and more.
“Daily Planet Delicatessen”: Located in the heart of Metropolis, this restaurant offers a comprehensive menu: from sandwiches and pastrami to local gazpacho. Everybody will find something to suit their fancy in this restaurant, and will enjoy it across from “Superman, The Ride of Steel”.
“The Penguin’s Ice Cream”: Serving a full range of ice cream and waffles with chocolate or strawberry sauce, with heaps of cream.
“Empire Diner”: Take-away Italian cuisine.
Gotham City will have stores selling souvenirs from that mysterious city, a “The Joker’s Candy Shop” and in the city of Metropolis will also have superb stores where visitors can acquire all kinds of souvenirs.
WARNER BROS. STUDIO
Inspired by Hollywood’s famous movie and television production studio, the streets on Warner Bros. Studio are recreated with replica sound stages, buildings and facades. Visitors will enjoy the feeling of being on the real Warner Bros. studio lot and sets in Burbank, California.
ATTRACTIONS AND SHOWS
"Highfall": Visitors, suspended on a rail, are pulled backwards in their train to a height of 131 feet from the ground, to be released down at a speed of 50 miles/ hour. Then they go up at full speed on rails that end up in a twist, before going back with a boomerang effect. In this attraction, which lasts a full minute, visitors turn upside down six times.
“Antique Auto Tour”: In this attraction visitors can parade in vintage cars, dated from the 20’s, each inspired on a film celebrity. Inside the car passengers will see movie star signatures and memorabilia, and will be able to participate in a rally on the roads of Southern California.
“Haunted Hotel”: Unsuspecting visitors are locked in this old hotel. It recreates many hair-raising special effects from various Hollywood horror films.
“Lethal Weapon”: A stunt show featuring Hollywood-trained specialists, who will perform live shows. Guests will be able to see the most spectacular action movie special effects. This daytime show on the lagoon recreates the action and storyline from the Lethal Weapon films.
“Police Academy”: A stunt show performed by professionals, who provide a show for the enjoyment of the whole family with car chases, explosions, and helicopter crashes, Inspired by the Police Academy films, expect to see all kinds of wild and zany humor.
RESTAURANTS AND STORES
“Studio Cafe”: A buffet restaurant that offers guests the distinctive cuisine of Southern California.
“Casa del Sol Restaurant”: Strategically located next to the lagoon, it offers a broad variety of Spanish dishes, as well as a bar, “La Luna Negra” with an open-air terrace overlooking the lagoon.
“Jack’s Fish Market”: A restaurant replica of the house structures along California piers, offering fish and seafood with the freshest variety of salads.
“Dirty Harry’s Bar”: Exterior bar where guests can enjoy everything they desire and more to quench there thirst and relax for a while on the docks of a scene reminiscent of Monterey and Cannery Row near San Francisco with the views of the lagoon.
“The Little Shop of Horrors”: where horror and magic objects can be purchased, as well as gadgets from the films, “The Mask”, “Gremlins”, and other classic Hollywood horror films.
“Backlot Boutique”: selling souvenirs from the “Police Academy” show, as well as special products based on Warner Bros. properties.
