Hi2004 - Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror - Under Construction? - (5/28/02) A few photos sent to us today seem to indicate that some work has started on this new Tower attraction as well.
(5/14/02) With the park now open to the public, we have heard from one guest that construction on the new Tower may have kicked into high gear. Can anyone else confirm this news or have photos?
(2/18/02) It seems one of the groups of preview visitors to the park has spotted the best bit of foreshadowing yet that gives proof that the Tower of Terror will soon grace the new park. A nice little wall has been set up around the rumored site for the Tower near Armageddon, and upon the archway over the closed gates the pictured logo of the Hollywood Tower Hotel (HTH) was found. This photo was sent in by one of our DLP-Today friends, who also sent us the sad news that they are shutting down their website.
(2/6/02) While I don’t know much about this project yet, a source has reported with great confidence that this attraction would be a clone of the new design going into California Adventure and not a clone of the current attraction at Walt Disney World. So far there have been too many rumors about what form the ride in California may take to know anything for sure other than the often repeated rumor that the 5th Dimension room where the cars move forward would not be included this time around.
Phase 2 Attractions - (7/24/2001) We’ve heard that the park is looking to add their own version of Fantasmic in the next couple of years after it opens. There is also talk about a possible Tower of Terror attraction as early as 2004, but we know how these things get delayed. Perhaps the problems with the California Adventure park will benefit this new park by green lighting new attractions before it even opens.
(5/24/2000) We've heard that the first new attraction will be a copy of MuppetVision 3D. Other attractions cut from Phase 1 that could be included in Phase 2 include: a ToonTown Studios area that may feature the Roger Rabbit Car-Toon Spin ( DL & TDL) as well as a revised version of the Baby Herman Buggy Ride that could contain laser guns. Of course they may just copy Buzz Lightyear itself.
