Thrillville Heading Off the Rails
LucasArts is building a bigger, better theme park.

July 3, 2007 - Today LucasArts announced its theme park creation software Thrillville will be opening the gates to a new addition this October. Titled Thrillville: Off the Rails, the standalone game will bring its signature brand of zany rides to the Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PSP, and PC. Fans of the original Thrillville will recognize the kid-friendly gameplay, but Off the Rails adds even crazier rides, new ways to interact with park guests, more customization options, and a wider array of carnival games.

The coasters players build in Thrillville aren't bound to the laws of physics (or potential lawsuits) real-world rides are. Leap from track to track, go airborne, jet through flaming rings of fire… This is your chance to make the coaster you've always (or never) wanted to ride. The Pendulizer is a new coaster with a giant arm that grabs the car just before it plummets off a gap in the track, spins it around, then sets it down on the other side.

Over 100 mission will have to be managed by enterprising theme park owners, tied together by a lighthearted story. Conversations with attendees provide hints on how to improve your park -- unless they're spies from your competitor Globo-Joy.

Off the Rails is being developed by Frontier, makers of the original Thrillville, except for the DS version being prepped by DC Studios (Code Lyoko). The Wii and DS versions will be utilizing the unique control schemes of each system to build rides and play minigames "with the flick of your wrist."

The first Thrillville is now a Greatest Hits game on the PS2 and PSP and a Platinum Family Hit on Xbox, so curious gamers can get some cheap thrills for $19.99.

Ich bin gespannt!
