How are you doing? We made a trip to London (United Kingdom) unannounced some days back, Unfortunately we got mugged at gun point last night! All cash, Credit card and phone were stolen, we got messed up in another country, stranded in London, fortunately passport was back in my hotel room. It was a bitter experience and i was hurt on my right hand, but would be fine. I am sending you this message cos i don't want anyone to panic, we want you to keep it that way for now!
Our return flight leaves in a few hours but I’m having troubles sorting out the hotel bills, wondering if you could loan me some money to sort out the hotel bills and also take a cab to the airport about (1,2500 euro). I have been to the police and embassy here, but they aren't helping issues, I have limited means of getting out of here, we canceled our cards already and made a police report, I won’t get a new card number till I get back home! So I really need your help.

Ich habe darauf hin eine kurze Email auf deutsch zurück geschrieben und sie parallel angerufen:
Telefonisch war schnell klar, dass das Konto gehackt ist. Dennoch könnte bei so einer Email ein Freund schnell Geld überweisen, sofern er die Story glaubt. Bei ihr wäre es glaubhaft, da sie (früher) viel verreist. Weniger glaubhaft das perfekte englisch. Doch da die EMail an das komplette Adressbuch geschickt wurde, denkbar, dass sie mit einer Email schnell alle Bekannten erreichen wollte.
Kurz nach dem Telefonat kam die Antwort, wieder auf englisch und damit war natürlich eh klar, dass der Account gehackt wurde:

l know this sounds weird and you wouldn't believe me,i'm really stuck out here in the UK...l wish l could call but l don't have access to phone at the moment.It was so scary and i would want you to know that i have nothing left on me and i'm glad that i still have my life and my passport cos it would have been worst if they made away with my passport.

Für einen kurzen Moment habe ich die Story der ersten Mail wirklich geglaubt, dennoch aber beim Stichwort "Western Union" bin ich dann hängen geblieben.
Hoffentlich ist dies eine Warnung an alle, die evtl. ähnliche Emails von Freunden erhalten.
