A new record for the Euro Attractions Show in Rome

More than 9.000 visitors

Today was the final day of the 7th edition of the Euro Attractions Show (EAS). With more than 9.000 visitors and 1.000 participants in the extensive conference programme, EAS 2010 Rome proves to be the largest conference and trade show for the attractions industry in Europe.

The EAS is organized by the European Office of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA Europe). The show rotates between different countries and cities, and this year’s edition took place in Rome, Italy. Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, Executive Director of IAAPA Europe says: “In best Italian tradition, it all came together in Rome. For the second time, we had a record number of visitors. It re-confirms EAS’ position as the premier tradeshow for the attractions industry in Europe, and is an excellent platform for bringing the show to London next year”.

More visitors, bigger exhibition floor
Preliminary counts show that more than 9.000 visitors came to the event this year. Last year in Amsterdam 8.177 European amusement and attractions owners, operators and suppliers visited EAS. The co-location with a gaming-show in Italy (ENADA) brought extra visitors. The visitors came from more than a hundred (!) countries and about a third came from Italy. 265 exhibitors showed their latest products on a show floor, 10% larger than in Amsterdam. Among the exhibited products were roller coasters, attractions, ticket and access systems, games and animatronics. One of the most important trends is the combination of 3D-movies with other techniques as well as ice rinks of synthetic materials.

Extensive conference programme
Parallel to the show ran an educational conference programme which featured operators from across Europe and the rest of the world sharing their expertise. Apart from four seminars on Marketing, Safety, Green Operations and Food and Beverage, the programme also featured a Round Table Discussion with some of the most legendary pioneers of the European attractions industry, as well as a dedicated seminar on new water park developments. More than 1.000 people attended the conference programme.

EAS 2011 London
In 2011 the amusement- and theme park industry will gather in London. The EAS will take place from 27-29 September 2011 and will be held in the Olympia Exhibition Center. The interest of exhibiting companies is already very high: over 50% of the exhibition space is sold.
