Disney verfilmt die nächste Themenpark-Attraktion

Nach Pirates of the Caribbean - Fluch der Karibik

Nach dem Rekord-Erfolg von Pirates of the Caribbean - Fluch der Karibik 2
setzen Walt Disney Pictures nun einen weiteren Film ganz oben auf die
Prioritätsliste, der ebenfalls auf einer Themenpark-Attraktion basiert.

Die Smallville-Schöpfer Alfred Gough und Miles Millar stehen in Verhandlungen,
um Jungle Cruise zu schreiben, einen Abenteuerfilm, der auch durchaus
Auftakt einer Filmreihe werden könnte.

Jungle Cruise basiert auf einer der 22 Original-Attraktionen, die beim Start
von Disneyland im Jahre 1955 dabei waren. Die Besucher werden von einem
Skipper über einen Dschungelfluss gefahren und begegnen so wilden Kreaturen wie
Piranhas und Gorillas.

Disney - (9/22/06) The Hollywood Reporter announced that Disney was planning a new life film based on their Jungle Cruise theme park attraction. This is no surprise to long time Screamscape readers as I dig up our old report on this same story from nearly two years ago, posted on 12/20/04: “According to Variety, Diseny has lined up a few new films with Mandeville Films (The Shaggy Dog) including a remake of the Swiss Family Robinson and a big budget feature film based on the Jungle Cruise attraction. "It's an adventure film with comedic elements, but its core is almost a family version of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness," about a group that travels upriver, in search of a significant cure.?” I guess the main difference this time around is that apparently Al Gough and Mile Millar, the creators of Smallville, are in negotiations to write the the film which has been given fast-track status at Disney.
