Riders Flying Through Reality at Alton Towers

Staffordshire, England -- Following an extensive review of the laws of time, gravity and space, Alton Towers officials unveiled secret plans today to reverse the fragile ethos we employ to order our sense of reality.

Newton and Einstein's laws of gravity will become obsolete. Something will happen to time itself. Bending, stretching, reversing with reality and the creation of Exosphere, an incredible -- if not unbelievable -- new roller coaster concept. The first at a Theme Park anywhere in the world. Exosphere promises mankind the ability to freely fly to the very edges of reality.

"In 1998 we introduced the powerhouse Oblivion roller coaster, the biggest single attraction expenditure in UK theme park history," said Bill Feltham, Public Relations Manager at Tussauds, owners of Alton Towers. "Only a company with the stature of Tussauds can continuously bring thrill-seekers of all ages power-packed new rides and attractions guaranteed to deliver ultra-sensational experiences."

"For an encore, Alton Towers is building one of the most innovative new roller coasters of the decade with Exosphere" claims Gavin Bryson, coaster enthusiast. "Here in the UK we are pleased that Alton Towers is the first park in the world to build one. It complements the park's great variety of world class attractions and adds a truly distinctive dimension of powerful thrills."

Exosphere's flying odyssey begins when earth-defying thrill seekers board sleek 28-seat trains. But wait, this is no ordinary boarding of a coaster. One immediately senses this is going to be extraordinarily different. Seated backwards, four abreast and secured by space-age harnesses.

As Exosphere prepares for an explosive blast off, thrill seekers (remember they are seated backwards) are reclined to a 30-degree angle and now face the sky with no idea of what lies ahead.

Suddenly, Exosphere's rocket motors explode and the train accelerates up the first 35 metre incline at 50 mph. At the top they are inverted by a 180-degree twist transforming the thrill seekers into thrill flyers. Gravity pulls riders snugly against the safety
harnesses as the sky immediately disappears placing them in a horizontal position as they dive straight toward the ground and through 4 exhilarating loops, zero-G encounters and spiral-like twists.

Thrill flyers, virtually vertical with the ground in some segments, experience heart pounding, stomach turning excitement as Exosphere journeys over 2,550 feet of precision steel while topping speeds in excess of 50 mph for most of the one minute, thirty second ride through and beyond the fragile earth based timeline. It will shatter, bend, stretch and snap the window between reality and unreality. The glass will fly.

"Exosphere will be so thrilling and so unique that a new category far above ultimate will have to be created to describe the experience. There is nothing to compare it to in the whole world '' said Bryson. "Thrill seekers beware that Exosphere is so out-of-this-world you don't ride it, you experience it."

Alton Towers' new Exosphere coaster will make its historical launch in early April 2002. While the world waits, thrill seekers salivate. The park has already broken ground and construction is ahead of schedule. ''The ride is such technological departure that
we expect the construction site will draw much attention from our guests over the coming 2001 season'' Feltham says.

Alton Towers in Staffordshire features over 120 rides and attractions including Nemesis, Europe's first inverted looping coaster and Oblivion, the world's first vertical drop rollercoaster. All the attractions are located in 500 acres of landscaped gardens.

Was denkt ihr?

Hi Jakob,
Exosphere kommt!!!!

Hi

Gruß,

Tim :-wink2
