Well, just got back from this "impressive" ride and all I can tell you guys are four words:
DON'T BELIVE THE HYPE!!!!!!
I guess I should have listened to my OWN advice earlier:
<<I admit, as one who lived here for 3 years and been to many of Korea's theme parks (never been to Everland though), most of their advertisements are just THAT: slick and overhyped.>>
Guys, this ride that was shown in all that slick art is NOTHING based in reality. It's just a fun little coaster (yes, coaster ONLY---no dark ride AND water ride the Coaster web site was assuming). It's actually funny because the vehicle doesn't even TOUCH water LOL!! The 90 degree banking turn in the water the web site goes on and on about doesn't even exist. The water is at a VERY low level (although it's odd, because even in the park's pictures of the attraction, the vehicles are all floating in water??).
But guys, this is not overselling or even being overhyped. It's simply misleading and false advertising, period. Maybe the "Mummy" may not live up to it's hype, but AT LEAST the elements are there that it's suppose to have. For this ride, all the talk of "story" and "special effects" simply doesn't exist. All the rooms you see in the art DOES exist, but they are very short, sparsely themed and you litterally speed through them......you don't slow down to take it all in. Plus, the "dark cavern" area doesn't exist at all. Not there. Also, the "wind tunnel" effect the web site mention seemed to never made it off the drawing boards either, because it isn't there. Actually, the web site mentions in one scene: "After the boat slowed down in the water it will enter the caves again. At a slow speed it will flow throught some kind of jungle. A very nice darkride element as it seems." NO, nothing like that. You simply come back inside and WAIT for 30 seconds as some pathetic animatronic plant just sits there moving up and down. Again, no real scenes to speak of---maybe you look at something for about 10 seconds, stop, wait and then proceed up the lift for the final drop. THAT'S IT!!
Also, what's so funny are the animatronics themselves. Again, another example that Korea isn't Japan. There are maybe a total of four and they are built in such a cheesy way (top half is the only thing shown and the bottom half is the MACHINE of the animatronic, shown in all it's glory) that you don't take any of it seriously. These are animatronics the way Knott's Berry Farm makes them, not Disney. As a matter of fact, this little ride feels like a Knott's Berry Farm attraction than anything with it's weak "story", BAD animatronics, strong exterior, but the interior leaves little to be desired.
But, with all that said, it is an INTENSE ride. It's fast and it does launches pretty well, but it's nothing more than a lower-class "Matterhorn" type attraction with more thrills but absouluting NOTHING mind-blowing about it (I'm sure the TOT's, Indy's, Spiderman's and POTC's attractions can rest easy now ;)).
I guess I was SORELY dissappointed because I felt pretty duped looking at those pics and listening to the commentary like (and I quote):
<<A rollercoaster that looks so promising that it has the public and enthusiasts foaming at the mouth. A ride that looks too good to be true. A device that will challenge the conventions of what a rollercoaster is.>>
LOL, it sure tells us how some fanboys can get OVERLY excited based on a few pics ;). I'm not sure whether the person who drew these pics should be fired.....or promoted LOL!!! It was a good job, but TOO good of a job. A lot left to be desired on this ride if you based the experienced on those beautiful pics.
In conclusion, DON'T buy a ticket to see this thing. Yes, it IS fun and pretty fast, but it is nothing more than a traditional coaster with a launch and some minor theming spread through it. There are NONE of the elements that were mentioned like the dark ride and water ride effects and it is a SHORT ride---clocked it at about 2 minutes and 10 seconds both times I got on it (which only proves that there are no real "dark ride" elements. Yes, Universal and Disney don't have to feel threatened at all by this little attraction. With that said though, it IS probably the best attraction in Korea though and a fun ride. If you didn't know anything about it before riding it, you would be pleasently surprised I think. Unfortunately, after hearing quotes like this thing may give "Mummy" and other REAL attractions a run for their money, your expectations can get a little high. That's a firm NO, God no on many levels. Just a fun coaster---nothing less and unfortunately nothing more.

(I'm actually thinking about writing to that web site with all the pics and tell them to TAKE DOWN those summaries because they are VERY misleading at this point. I realize it was just mainly speculation before it opened, but now that it has and shown to be strictly a basic theme park ride, maybe they shouldn't have it up. What do you guys think?)
