Dear Coaster Enthusiast,
The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower needs your support for the World's
Tallest and Fastest Thrill Ride. We need e-mails of support sent to the Las
Vegas City Council as soon as possible. The Stratosphere already has the
world's highest thrill rides including the Big Shot and the High Roller, and
is currently in the process of proposing the world's tallest and fastest
thrill ride to the Las Vegas City Council. Your involvement is necessary to
see that the proposal gets passed.
The attraction is currently being developed by Arrow Dynamics, Inc. which
has built some of the most exciting thrill rides all over the globe,
including the Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain located in Valencia,
California and the Pepsi Max Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in England.
The proposed amusement attraction will consist of a steel structure that
rises up 740 feet on the east side of the tower. Riders will be raised in a
passenger car via an elevator that faces south. The car they ride in will be
turned to the east once they reach the top of the ride staging area (at over
700 feet). The car will free fall 204 feet and reach speeds of approximately
122 miles per hour before the track starts curving outward and crosses Las
Vegas Blvd. The car will then ascend up a (416-foot) tower that will be
built on Stratosphere's property across from the Tower and then return to
the loading area.
A handful of neighbors are opposed to the development and construction of
the ride and currently have the ear of the city officials. Also, there are
officials who believe that roller coaster enthusiasts are an unsavory
element and are not the type of people you want visiting the property. We
must prove them wrong!
We are asking every coaster enthusiast in the world to e-mail Mayor Oscar
Goodman's office to show support for the proposed attraction to see that it
becomes a reality. The e-mail address is mayor-ogoodman@ci.las-vegas.nv.us
Also, please send your support letter to Councilman Gary Reese. His e-mail
address is councilman-greese@ci.las-vegas.nv.us We are also asking that you
BLAST this e-mail to any and everyone you know TODAY that would support the
attraction and have them e-mail their letters of support to the City
Council. Together, we will take thrill rides to the next dimension!
We are under a tight deadline. The City Council meeting is scheduled for
November 7, 2001 at 1 p.m. We will need as many e-mail support letters as
possible before that time. If you are going to be in the Las Vegas area we
would love to have you attend the City Council Meeting at City Hall. Also,
please take the time to copy your support letter to
thrillride@stratospherehotel.com Once again, the Stratosphere is working
hard to make this happen and we appreciate your support. If you have any
questions feel free to contact Ryan Haddad, Marketing Coordinator at
(702)-383-5382 or e-mail at the above address. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Mike Gilmartin
