Säubrennerkirmes Wittlich 21.8.16

Da meine Freundin aus Wittlich stammt, ist die Wittlicher Säubrenner-Kirmes seit einigen Jahren ein fester Termin im Jahreskalender. So natürlich auch 2016.
Woher der Name kommt? Der Stadtsage nach hatte man das Stadttor mangels Material mit einer Rübe blockiert. Das Schwein hat die dummerweise gefressen, so dass die Feinde leichtes Spiel hatten. Aus Rache werden die Schweine nun also gegrillt. Und das findet auf dem Marktplatz statt:

Ist übrigens saulecker und absolut empfehlenswert, wenn man auf der Kirmes in Wittlich ist!
Durch die Stadt bis hinauf zur Schlossgallerie und dem Busbahnhof ziehen sich ein paar Stände. Der eigentliche Kirmesplatz liegt dort oben auf den Parkplätzen:
