Six Flags wins township approval for oversized coaster The Associated Press

AURORA, Ohio (AP) -- Six Flags Worlds of Adventure failed to obtain Aurora's approval for an oversized roller coaster, so it found a new spot in a section of the amusement park located in adjacent Bainbridge Township.
In exchange for allowing Six Flags to exceed the 180-foot height limit for a 210-foot coaster, the park will make a section near residential areas off-limits to rides.
The agreement requires changes to a 1997 judgment that set zones and heights for rides.
The park also agreed not to develop a forested area and not to pursue annexation with Aurora or any other community.
The compromise was reviewed Thursday night at a meeting with township trustees and about 60 residents, most of whom supported the plan for the attraction 20 miles southeast of Cleveland.
